Copacabana -Lake Titicaca (The highest lake in the world)

Copacabana became one of our favourite places in South America. It is a very small holiday town in Bolivia. It is also a border town between Peru to Bolivia. We crossed the border from Puno in Peru to Copacabana in Bolivia. The border crossing is very easy and interesting. For me as a Korean, I need the visa to enter Bolivia. I already got my visa in Cusco without any costs.

To cross the border, we took a tourist bus from Puno to the Peruvian border control office. It took around 50 minutes to get there by bus. After we pass the Peruvian border control, we walked across the borderline to the Bolivian customs office. After the document check, we got on the same bus from Puno which was waiting on the outside of the building. It took 3~4hours to get to Copacabana town.

We booked a hotel before we got there. Copacabana is also located at very high altitude. The hotel La Cupula is on one of the hilly areas. The view of the lake from our room is stunningly beautiful. The decoration of the hotel is one of the attractions in Copacabana. It is nicely presented inside and outside. Staying this hotel might be one of the reasons that Copacabana became one of our favourite places in South America. We enjoyed very much of the view and comfort while we stayed in.
